Monti at Cernobbio: before the applause, a few questions
The supercar tax, IMU on first homes, excise duties, warehouses: before applauding I would like a few questions about those choices. And an entrepreneur's conclusion: let's not wait for someone else to solve the problems of our businesses.
Can it be that at Cernobbio Mario Monti is still presented as the liberal reference point to set against Vannacci?
I read Lorenzo Castellani's comment and I share his point about the distance between that room and the people who have to keep a business going every day.
I remember the tougher supercar tax, the tax on boats, IMU on first homes, the extra burden on warehouses, the increases in excise duties and in the regional IRPEF surcharge.
For families and businesses that was money to be found, at a time that was already extremely difficult.
The debt crisis was real. But that doesn't erase the weight of the choices that were made.
So, before the applause, I would like a few questions about those choices and their consequences.
As an entrepreneur, this debate confirms a conviction of mine: we cannot wait for someone to come and solve the problems of our businesses.
That holds whatever the government and however we vote.
We are, and will be, the ones answerable for the results. If something useful comes from politics, good. In the meantime we have to work.
On positioning, to give the customer a precise reason to choose us.
On the product, so that it lives up to the price we ask.
On service, keeping our commitments.
On customer management, building a relationship that continues after the first sale.
